Struggling to find tune-up partners before the start of the M3 Worlds, Blacklist found an ally in its MPL PH rivals as RSG Philippines, Nexplay Evos, ECHO, and M2 World Champions Bren Esports all spent their time to play against Blacklist in scrimmages.

Team analyst and sixth-man Dexter “Dexstar” Alaba had earlier revealed before the start of the tournament that the squad was having a hard time finding scrimmage partners.

Some teams were even cancelling their scheduled scrims on the last minute, leaving Blacklist with no teams to spar with before the start of M3.

Good thing, Blacklist found support from its compatriots which paid dividends as the squad completed its Cinderella run in the lower bracket to take the M3 championship crown.

“Special thanks to some of the MPL PH teams who helped us in our practice. Nexplay Esports, RSG Philippines, ECHO, Bren Esports dahil sobrang hirap humanap ng quality team na makakascrim at mapagkakatiwalaan during M3,” said Bon Chan in a post on his Facebook page.

Bon Chan also tipped its hats off to his brothers in Onic Philippines which he revealed he got to get close with during the quarantine before M3.

Onic PH had a tournament for themselves breaking the spirits of the tournament’s top contenders in the upper bracket before Blacklist finished them off in the lower bracket.

“To ONIC Philippines, you guys are amazing sending those powerhouse teams in our bracket and breaking their morale so we can beat them and meet you guys in the finals, keeping the hope of Filipino for PH vs PH showdown. You guys have the heart of a CHAMPION and also a real CHAMPION for us!,” said Bon Chan.

“Let's do this again next season! Besties forevah!”
