Onic PH was solid in its playoff run in the upper bracket to reach the Grand Finals, but just like in its MPL PH Season 8 campaign the team just couldn’t get the break to finally win it all.

Not even its new mid-lane duo of Baloyskie and Jaylord “Hatred” Gonzales could break through the Blacklist code in the world stage as the MPL PH Season 8 champions dealt Onic PH a 4-0 beatdown to deny them a title for the second time this year.

Baloyskie, though, can still see the silver lining in the defeat, saying there’s still a lot of room for improvement for Onic’s new mid-lane combination.

“After reflecting sa talo. Narealize ko na 1 month pa lang kami ni Hatred sa new role namin. Wait niyo next season 'yung better version ng duo namin next season,” wrote Baloyskie in a post on his Twitter account.

Making the adjustment just a couple of weeks before the start of the tournament as revealed by coach Denver “Yeb” Miranda in a separate interview, the combination of Hatred and Baloyskie proved to be a deadly pair in the mid lane during their upper bracket run.

Strong contenders like RRQ Hoshi and BloodThirstyKing had a hard time finding answers against Onic’s one-two punch. The PH bets went on to win nine straight games in the upper bracket to secure the Grand Finals seat.

Blacklist, however, saw through the ploy and did counter measures to shut down the two in their finals match. The duo never really got their bearings going in the four-game stretch as Baloyskie admitted that he was at the bad end of his chess match against Jonmar “OhmyV33nus” all-series long.

“Alam ko sa sarili ko na matalino ako at magaling na shotcaller pero everytime si Veenus yung kalaban hirap na hirap ako,” Baloyskie added
