K-pop group Verivery cancels US shows as one member tests positive for COVID-19


K-pop boy band Verivery cancelled the remaining shows of their first ever US tour as one member tested positive in Ohio.

“Yongseung of Verivery has been tested positive for COVID-19 on Dec.17th (18th in Korea). Yongseung was immediately separated from other members and staff, and has started self-isolation in compliance with the regulations of local council and the State of Ohio. He has no other symptoms than a light headache,” said Jellyfish Entertainment in an announcement.

The agency added, “Other Verivery members and all staff participating in 2021 Verivery 1st Tour in US were tested negative and show no symptoms of infection such as fever, cough, etc.”

As a result of Yongseung testing positive for COVID-19, Jellyfish said all the remaining shows in Cleveland, Ohio; Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; and New York City, New York have been cancelled.

“As announced previously, the safety of our fans and VERIVERY is of utmost importance. Taking this into consideration, we've decided to cancel all schedules, including the shows scheduled in Cleveland on 12.17 (18th in Korea), Harrisburg on 12.19 (20th in Korea), and New York on 12.20 (21st in Korea),” Jellyfish added.

It said, “Again, we truly apologize for any inconveniences and causing you concern. In accordance with the policies of the local council as well as the disease prevention authorities in Korea, we will do our best to ensure Yongseung’s quick recovery and the safe return of our artists and staff, considering their health condition.”

Verivery started their US tour in Los Angeles last Dec. 5 followed by Tempe, Arizona; Dallas and Houston in Texas; St. Louis, Missouri; and Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Jellyfish Entertainment said in a previous announcement that all Verivery members got fully vaccinated in November.

“In compliance with the local council's regulations, every member of the tour crew was tested for COVID-19 before each performance day by the accompanying COVID-19 Compliance Officer with a negative result. However, abnormal symptoms have been found today, and as such,all members and staff have received the PCR test,” it said.
