Rafi Reavis is scheduled to take a COVID-19 vaccine which could lead to his return for Magnolia Pambansang Manok in the immediate future.

Magnolia coach Chito Victolero bared that the veteran center will receive a single shot of Johnson & Johnson in the United States after being barred from suiting up in the PBA Governors’ Cup due to the league’s vaccine mandate.

“I'm very happy he decided to be vaccinated. Yun yung magandang balita para sa amin,” Victolero said after the Hotshots’ 114-87 win over the Terrafirma Dyip Wednesday, Dec. 15 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“We need Rafi also because of his leadership. Kaya pa naman niya maglaro because sa bubble, maganda rin yung showing niya. So yun lang, he needs to be here siguro para makuha yung timing and yung kundisyon niya sa laro.

“Nag-usap naman kami and he’s willing to come back and play with us again,” he added.

Reavis remains a key figure on the Magnolia rotation even at 44 years old. He averaged 2.8 points and 5.7 rebounds in 24 games during the Philippine Cup.

His impending inoculation came after former teammate Justin Melton, who is now with Terrafirma, received a first jab of the Sinovac vaccine.

Melton has since played two of the Dyip's first three games this conference.
