Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and Magnolia Pambansang Manok will face off in the PBA Governors’ Cup’s Christmas Day special at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the league announced Friday, Dec. 17.

The Gin Kings and Hotshots, who have met in past Christmas games, are hoping to give fans a treat as the so-called “Manila Clasico” returns to the Big Dome for the first time since the pandemic.

Ginebra and Magnolia square off at 6:45 p.m., with the PBA again expected to allocate about 3,000 to 4,000 tickets for fully vaccinated fans.

NLEX and Phoenix Super LPG meet in the appetizer at 4 p.m. as the league holds its first Christmas Day doubleheader since 2017.

Other scheduled games for next week are Alaska-Blackwater at 3 p.m. and TNT-Meralco at 6 p.m. on Dec. 22, also at the Big Dome.

San Miguel Beer faces Terrafirma to open the post-Chrismas twinbill at 4 p.m. followed by TNT and Rain or Shine at 6:45 p.m.

The Dec. 26 matches are the last before the Governors’ Cup takes a break for the New Year’s Day revelry.

League activities for 2021, however, will end on the 29th with the Grand Finals of the PBA 3x3 also at Araneta.
