This online platform is helping the youth to be great leaders of tomorrow through games

Plan International Philippines launches new free online courses, game-based digital learning app

Building a bright future for the young has been the goal of global leaders, parents, and even the youth themselves. But with the sudden online shift of the education system today due to the pandemic, that ongoing task is becoming more and more difficult as virtual learning is not only unachievable for some but also turning out to be less conducive with internet distractions.

To help lead and empower young minds, Plan International Philippines, an independent development and humanitarian organization that advances children’s rights and equality for girls, launches new free online courses and a game-based digital learning app called Hope Town Hero (HTH) to help equip young people with essential skills for today's world of work.

Beginning this December, students can access YES!ACADEMY’s new courses on digital marketing, community-based enterprise development (CBED), and career guidance. Helping young people access skills training, the new courses on the youth-centered gamified e-learning platform will teach them how to grow their business by promoting products and services online, start a business based on the community’s needs, and get the right skills to land their first job.

Meanwhile, HTH is a game-based digital learning app created to help technical and vocational education and training (TVET) students and young people learn valuable skills around work readiness. A Pinoy-made game, HTH uses a storytelling approach and a series of engaging activities to provide learners with a meaningful experience in preparing for the world of work and beyond. This digital learning app allows learners to play through the web app and learn anytime, anywhere using the mobile app, choose their own lesson and adventure, and replay and hone their skills at their own time and pace offline through the mobile app.

The game can be accessed on a laptop or PC through https://hth.yesdigital.org/, while its mobile version can be downloaded on Android phones through this link: http://bit.ly/hth-10-2.
