Parañaque Mayor Olivarez cited for his role in keeping peace and order in NCR

Paranaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez received a “Mark of Distinction” award from National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Gen. Vicente Danao, Jr. during the 4th quarter peace and order council meeting held via zoom at the Blue Leaf Filipinas in Paranaque City on Dec. 9.

Olivarez, who has been serving as chairman of the Regional Peace and Order Council-NCR for the past three years, was commended for his role in the maintenance of peace and order in the NCR and in addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año congratulated Olivarez for his contribution in altering the goals to improve or enhance public safety in the region.

Olivarez, for his part, thanked the Metro Manila mayors for formulating plans to address the COVID-19 pandemic in their respective jurisdiction.

He said the Metro Manila mayors have managed to maintain peace and order in their areas amid the problems brought by the COVID-19 surge from 2020 up to this year.

Olivarez called on all local executives in the region to continue working together for a progressive and orderly Metro Manila in the years ahead.
