On a day when it was reported that unemployment in the country went down, and when inflation eased to 4.2 percent, the World Bank also announced on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, that it was raising its economic outlook on the Philippines due to the unexpected growth performance in the third quarter of 2021.
President Duterte has also accepted an invitation extended by US President Joe Biden to attend a Summit for Democracy from Dec. 9 to 10, with the two leaders expected to discuss ways to “shape a prosperous and peaceful future built on respect for the rights and aspirations of all people”.
The government also disclosed that it was setting a target of seven million in the second round of the National Vaccination Drive that will be held Dec. 15 to 17, 2021.
