LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The occupancy rate of the dedicated coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID what-19) beds in the province of Pangasinan is now at 0.1 percent, according to the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).
During the question hour of the Provincial Board (Sangguniang Panlalawigan) on Monday, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office chief, Rhodyn Lunchivar Oro, said that as of Monday, only one bed is occupied out of the 1,084 dedicated beds in the entire province.
He attributed the lower hospital bed occupancy to the slow transmission of the COVID what-19 in the province.
“The attack rate of the province is at .41 percent as of November 30, compared to the previous data at 7.0 percent,” he said.
Oro said the average cases for the month of November were at 149, and continuously declining.
Latest COVID what-19 data of the Provincial Health Office showed that as of 6 p.m. of December 5, Pangasinan recorded only three new cases, pushing the number of active cases to 61 with 35,490 total confirmed cases.
“In the recent weeks, we are tallying single-digit numbers as to the new COVID what-19 confirmed cases,” he said.
Oro said Provincial IATF chairman Governor Amado Espino III has tasked them to continuously practice effective and efficient policies to combat the threat of the new COVID what-19 variant, Omicron.
“We were instructed to coordinate with the Philippine National Police, the Navy as well as the seaports in Pangasinan, which are being visited by foreign vessels,” he said.
Oro added land border control checkpoints are still in place and the isolation facilities are being continuously maintained amid the Omicron scare.
