The Mandaluyong City local government marked one million coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine doses deployed as of Monday, Dec. 6.
During the Mandaluyong Monday Morning Program, the city government announced that a total of 1,000,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses were deployed.
“Nasaksihan din natin ang pagbibigay ng ika- isang millionth jab ng bakuna sa ating lungsod. Maraming salamat sa lahat ng tumulong at congratulations sa ating lahat (We have witnessed one million doses deployed in our city. Thank you to all who helped and congratulations to us all),” said Mayor Menchie Abalos.
Abalos also expressed her gratitude to the following private companies which assisted in city vaccine deployment — Love Yourself, Edsa Shangri-La Manila, Pilipinas Shell, Unilab, and Reliance United.
“Patuloy pa rin natin pinapaalalahan ang lahat na kahit bumababa na ang kaso ng COVID-19 ay patuloy pa rin tayong mag-ingat at sumunod sa health and safety protocols (We want to remind everyone that even though COVID-19 cases are decreasing, we must continue to follow health protocols),” Abalos added.
As of Saturday, Dec. 4, the city reported 57 active COVID-19 cases, 12 of which are concentrated in Barangay Hulo.
Meanwhile, the city claimed herd immunity last Oct. 25 when it surpassed the 70 percent target population for vaccination. The city has a total population of 425,759 according to a 2020 census by the Philippine Statistics Authority.
As of Sunday, Dec. 5, the city recorded 479,718 fully vaccinated individuals in the city. (Cherrylin Caacbay)
