Jobless man yields P12.7M shabu


CEBU CITY — An unemployed man yielded P12.7 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tungkil, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu on Sunday night, Dec. 5.

Eric Bacaresas Lapeña, 39, was arrested by operatives of the Minglanilla Police Station in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Central Visayas.

Police said 1.875 grams of shabu was recovered from the suspect’s possession.

The suspect is a resident of Barangay Tisa but has been peddling illegal drugs in MInglanilla and neighboring towns.

Police Brig. Gen. Roque Eduardo Vega, chief of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas, congratulated the Minglanilla police for collaring the suspect, who was listed as a high-value individual in the police drug watchlist.

"We will not stop until we put an end to the drug menace here in Central Visayas," Vega said.
