GSIS offers computer loan for remote work, classes


The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has launched a loan program to aid members and their families purchase computer units for their remote work or online classes.

Under the GSIS Computer Loan, members may borrow P30,000 to purchase a desktop or laptop computer.

In a Laging Handa briefing, GSIS Dumaguete Branch Manager Igmido Pomay Jr. said the loan is payable in three years at an interest of 6 percent per annum.

"Ang GSIS Computer Loan ay may inilunsad ng GSIS para makatulong sa lahat ng naka-work-from-home na GSIS pensioners pati na rin ang nasa remote learning na kanilang mga anak (The GSIS launched Computer Loan to help work-from-home GSIS pensioners and those who have children currently undergoing remote learning)," Pomay said.

Pomay added that the loan has a monthly amortization of P983.33.

Qualified to apply for the Computer Loan are active members who have paid at least three months of premiums; have a permanent appointment; are not on leave of absence without pay; have no pending administrative or criminal case; have no arrears under the GSIS Financial Loan; have no past due GSIS loan except housing loan; and are not under suspended agencies.

Interested members may apply over the counter, through drop boxes in GSIS offices, through eGSISMO, via email to the handling branch, through GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System (GWAPS) Kiosks, or through GSIS Touch.
