According to Bren’s announcement, the star jungler was granted release from the team after he expressed his intentions to explore possible opportunities outside of Bren.

“Karltzy, as of the moment, has decided to branch out for possible opportunities outside of Bren Esports,” said Bren in a social media post.

“With utmost respect, we wish him all the best in the future of his career. Thank you for raising the black and yellow banner and more importantly, the flag of the Philippines. All the best, Champ!,” it added.

Karltzy’s departure ended his three-season stint with Bren where he won the MPL Philippines Season 6 title and the M2 World crown, along with an MVP citation during the same world meet.

The 17-year-old Mobile Legends star joined Bren in Season 5 where he formed a star-studded lineup with CJ “Ribo” Ribo, Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel and Allan “Lusty” Castromayor. The four, together with then super rookie David Charles “Flaptzy” Canon, reigned in the crowning tournament for Mobile Legends after beating Burmese Ghoul, 4-3, in the Grand Finals.

“Undeniably one of the best MLBB junglers in the scene, KarlTzy is living proof that one can achieve so much at such young age. Along with his teammates, they crawled their way up the brackets to become the M2 World Champions,” wrote Bren.

The performance of the team, however, went downhill from that point as it failed to defend its MPL title in Season 7. The woes continued in Season 8 where the team missed the playoffs for the first time in its franchise history after finishing seventh in the group stage with a 5-9 record.
