Expanding the vaccination program is important to revive the country’s tourism industry, presidential aspirant and Manila mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso underscored on Sunday, Dec. 5.

Domagoso held a dialogue with the workers of Cebu Safari and Amusement Park on Sunday.

“First things first: kapanatagan to the tourists and to the workers. Kapag laging pangamba na baka yung nagseserbadora sa kanya ay may COVID o yung kanyang turista may COVID, lahat takot. Kapag lahat takot, mababa ang efficiency level at service (First things first: peace of mind to the tourists and to the workers. When there is always fear that the person who locks him has a COVID or that his tourist has a COVID, everyone is afraid. When everyone is scared, the efficiency level and service are low),” Domagoso said in his speech.

“Kapag bakunado ang lahat, tuloy na ang buhay. Doon papasok yung consumer confidence. Bakunahan natin nang bakunahan ang tao. Palabasin natin. Pagastusin ang tao para may hanapbuhay ang tao. So, naturally, may iikot na pera (When everyone is vaccinated, life goes on. That’s where consumer confidence comes in. Let’s vaccinate the people. Let them out. Let them spend so that others will have a job. So, naturally, the money will grow),” he added.

The Manial mayor then commended anew President Duterte for holding the three-day National Vaccination drive.

“Katulad ngayon, ito yung pinakamagandang portion na ginagawa ng national government through President Duterte and IATF [Inter-Agency Task Force] National Vaccination Day, kung saan ang tumulong ay mga lokal na pamahalaan, tulad namin, na dalhin yung resources namin like doktor, nurses sa kani-kanilang probinsya kung saan kami ma-assign. This will matter to the tourism industry (Just like today, this is the best portion that the national government is doing through President Duterte and IATF – National Vaccination Day, where local governments, like us, help bring our resources like doctors, nurses to their respective provinces if where we can be assigned. This will matter to the tourism industry),” he said.

Domagoso was the first presidential candidate to visit the said amusement park and its workers.
