During a visit with workers of the Cebu Safari and Amusement Park (Cebu Safari) in Carmen city and accompanied by Cong. Pablo John Garcia of Cebu’s third district and Cebu Safari Chief Operating Officer Eduard Loop, Domagoso was amazed at the state of the facilities and how they managed to remain open despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Kaya ako pumunta rito, para malaman ng Pilipinas na may ganito sa Cebu at bukas siya. Hindi nagsara. Kahit nahirapan yung negosyante, minaintain niya, inayos niya (This is why I went here, to let the Philippines know that Cebu has attractions like these that are still open. Even though the business leaders had a hard time maintaining the facility, they stayed open),” said Domagoso.

Domagoso also noted that Cebu Safari could bolster the tourism sector by becoming one of the central animal breeding facilities in Asia and even breeding animals for other zoos around the Philippines.

“Nakakainggit yung Cebu Safari (Cebu Safari is enviable) because you produce your own animals already. Nagbibreed na kayo. Hindi na kayo umaasa sa imported. Nandoon na kayo sa next level (You’re breeding your own animals without relying on imports)… You now look at your future in this establishment and someday, we can be the center of Asia in producing animals,” added Domagoso.
