Presidential aspirant and Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Saturday, Dec. 4, said he will prioritize providing the minimum basic needs of the people should he win in the upcoming elections.
“Alam ko na marami sa inyo, bago magpandemya, hirap ang buhay. Mangyari pa lalo tayong dinikdik ng pandemya. Mahirap ang maging mahirap (I know that many of you, before the pandemic, life was hard. Of course, we are even more devastated by the pandemic. It’s hard to be poor),” said Domagoso during his visit in Naic, Cavite on Saturday.
“Umasa kayo, sa awa ng Diyos at sa tulong ninyo, pag pinalad ako, magkakaroon kayo ng gobyernong masasandalan, may tenga, matatakbuhan, at inuunawa at dinidinig kayo (You can hope, with the mercy of God and with your help, if I am blessed, you will have a government that you can lean on, that has ears, that you can run to, and that understands and hears you),” Domagoso said.
Cutting taxes on fuel and electricity are just some of the major campaign of Domagoso.
Through this, Domagoso believes that people would have more money to spend on their basic needs and that the economy would also recover.
“Ninanais ko lang na umatras muna ng konti ang gobyerno, umabante ng kaunti ang tao. Yung pagkalugi ng gobyerno, siyang kapakinabangan ng tao. Yung mabilis na pamamaraan, ng matikman kaagad ng tao, yung ibsan yung suliranun niya — murang bilihin, makapagtrabaho, murang pamasahe, murang koryente (I just want the government to back down a little first, the people to move forward a little. The losses of the government are for the benefit of the people. The fast method, when the person tastes it right away, it alleviates his problem – cheap prices, being able to work, cheap fares, cheap electricity),” he said.
Further, Domagoso promised that more mass housing projects, public hospitals, and public schools will also be built around the country if he wins.
