Mayor Abigail "Abby" Binay of the City of Makati said her greatest Christmas wishes are to see the children of the country's premier city playing, riding their bikes, learning face-to-face in their schools, and going back to their normal lives.

Binay said she wants an immediate return to normalcy not for the sake of big business which has been the lifeblood of the city, but for the children who have been kept indoors for almost two years now to reclaim their normal lives.

The COVID-19 pandemic changed all these and the children have been out of school and prohibited to do outdoor activities and even go to the malls.

Mayor Abby renewed her appeal to parents to register their children for COVID-19 vaccinations.

The city has gone all-out in its vaccination drive for children between the ages of 12 and 17.

She said that once the vaccination of the minors aged 12-17 is completed, the city will immediately start with the inoculation of the younger population, aged 5 to 11

Binay expressed hope that the vaccination of the younger population will start before the end of the year.

She said vaccinating the younger population would mean that a merry Christmas awaits Makatizens.
