Platinum Karaoke secured the first quarterfinals berth after posting two more wins in the fourth leg of the PBA 3x3 tournament Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Chris de Chavez, Karl Dehesa, JR Alabanza and Ryan Monteclaro followed up their 21-13 victory over the Cavitex Braves by defeating the third leg champion Sista Super Sealers, 21-17, and the Limitless Appmasters, 20-12, to lead Pool A with a 3-0 record.

De Chavez, Dehesa, Alabanza and Monteclaro will play the Zamboanga Valientes on the following day to wrap up the preliminaries before heading to the knockout stage where they’ll face the winner of the playoff between the third placers in Pool B and C.

Second leg winner Meralco and Leg 3 third placer Terrafirma are unbeaten in their respective pools at 2-0.

Tonino Gonzaga, Alfred Batino, Joseph Sedurifa and Dexter Maiquez gave Meralco victories over Pioneer (21-17) and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel (21-16) in Pool B.

TH Tumalip, Dhon Reverente, Matt Salem and Jebb Bulawan, who earlier in the day cruised to a 19-9 rout of NorthPort, made it two wins in as many matches for Terrafirma with a hard-fought 18-15 decision over Purefoods.

Meralco plays San Miguel Beer and Terrafirma collides with first leg champion TNT with a chance to cement their place in the last eight.

Two quarters spots in Pool A are still at stake with Limitless in second at 2-1, Cavitex in third after going 2-2 and Sista at 1-2.

Pioneer and San Miguel Beer are tied for second at 1-1 in Pool B while Ginebra has yet to win in two matches.

Also with identical 1-1 slates are Purefoods and TNT after their tight match in Pool C.

Paolo Javelona’s two-pointer sealed Purefoods’ 21-19 victory over TNT, which is playing without Jeremiah Gray due to an ACL injury.

Despite at 0-2, NorthPort could put itself in consideration for a spot in the playoff for eighth if it beats Purefoods in the final match of the preliminaries.
