It’s the 11th day that the number of new coronavirus diseases (COVID-19) was at below 1,000, as more indications showed that the infection may be starting to wane. Among these indications is the decreasing number of calls at the One Hospital Command, which coordinates the fielding of patients to COVID-19 response hospitals.

It is hoped that this trend would not be snapped by any surge that could be caused by the Omicron variant. And so far, both the Department of Health (DOH) and Philippine Genome Center (PGC) have not detected any such infection in the country.
