In an online interview with singer-actress Sharon Cuneta that was uploaded on YouTube on Friday evening, Dec. 3, Robredo said her late husband would probably laugh at her.

“Parati ko ‘yan naiisip, pero tingin ko tatawanan niya ako (I always think about that. I think he would laugh at me),” she said.

“Kasi ang dami kong sinabi na nilunok ko noong buhay pa siya (Because I said a lot of things that I took back when he was still alive),” she added.

One instance, the Vice President said, was when she told Secretary Robredo that she will never enter politics but ended up running for Congress in 2013 and actually won.

What she misses about Jesse

During the interview, the Vice President was also asked by Cuneta what she misses the most about her husband.

“It’s the everyday. It’s not the big things,” Robredo said.

According to the lady official, Secretary Robredo would massage her to ease her migraine and would always want to be by her side whenever he was at home.

“‘Pag umuwi na siya wala na akong nagagawang iba kasi gusto niya katabi niya ako all the time (When he’s home, I’m not able to do anything else because he wanted to stick with me all the time),” she said.

“Inis na inis ako diyan dati kasi feeling ko wala na akong nagagawa pag nandiyan ang tatay niyo. Pero noong nawala siya, yun ang hinahanap ko (I was so irritated by that back then because I felt I wasn’t able to finish anything when he’s home. But after he was gone, that’s why I longed for),” she added.

The former Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) chief and longtime Naga City mayor died on Aug. 18, 2012, when his aircraft crashed off the shore of Masbate due to engine failure.
