Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso’s version of “Build, Build, Build” project will focus on the development of mass housing, schools, hospitals, and employment.

During his visit to Mabalacat City, Pampanga on Thursday, Dec. 2, Domagoso said that while he would continue President Duterte’s Build, Build, Build projects, he would push for his own version of the initiative centered on public housing, educational institutions, medical institutions, and developing businesses to promote employment.

“Kaya lahat ng ‘Build, Build, Build’ nya, itutuloy natin yan. Pero ako, may ‘Build, Build, Build’ din (We will continue his [PRRD] ‘Build, Build, Build.’ But, I will also have my own). We will extend it to include ‘Build, Build, Build’ on housing, on schools, on hospitals. Pati na rin ang (including) Build for Business and Build for Jobs,” said Domagoso.

Under Domagoso’s mayorship, Manila has seen a boom in infrastructural development.

Mass housing projects for informal settlers were built such as the Basecommunity in Barangay 649, Tondominiums 1 and 2 in Tondo, Binondominiums 1 and 2 in Binondo, and the vertical housing projects which include the Pedro Gil Residences in San Andres Bukid and the San Sebastian Residences in Quiapo district.

The Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital was built near the Quirino Grandstand, while two others — the 10-storey Bagong Ospital ng Maynila (New Hospital of Manila) on Quirino Avenue and the President Corazon C. Aquino General Hospital in Basecommunity — are currently under construction.
