Cavite mayors to discuss fare readjustment

CAVITE – Mayors will hold an emergency meeting on Monday (Dec. 6) to discuss fare readjustment in the province.

According to Governor Jonvic Remulla, it is high time to review public transportation fare rates now that that travel has returned back to normal.

Now that travel is back to normal and public transportation has returned to full seating capacity, it's reasonable to adjust the fare rates to make it fair for passengers)."

Remulla clarified that public utility jeepneys (PUJ) and public utility buses (PUB) are under the jurisdiction of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

However, the governor said that he and the mayors will coordinate with the LTFRB regarding fare readjustment.
