Mandaluyong LGU distributes aid to Barangay Barangka fire victims


The Mandaluyong City local government, together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the office of Senator Christopher "Bong" Go distributed assistance on Wednesday, Dec. 1 to the victims of the fire that hit a residential area in Barangay Barangka.

Mandaluyong City Mayor Menchie Abalos, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Benhur Abalos, Sen. Go, and other city government officials led the aid distribution at Bonifacio Javier High School. The victims were given housing aid, financial assistance, and food packs.

Meanwhile, Go gave away bikes, tablets, shoes, food packs and vitamins to the beneficiaries.

According to the local government unit (LGU), a total of 340 individuals were adversely affected by the fire last Nov. 20.

The LGU previously distributed assistance to residents that lost their homes after a fire hit Barangay Addition Hills last Nov. 27.
