The Muntinlupa City government wrapped up its three-day “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” National COVID-19 Vaccination Days from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 with more than 22,000 people receiving vaccine jabs.
According to the Muntinlupa City Health Office, a total of 22,307 adults and minors were vaccinated in the three days of the vaccination campaign.
A total of 7,287 people were vaccinated on Nov. 29 followed by 8,265 on Nov. 30 and 6,755 on Dec. 1.
Of the 22,307, 14,321, or 64 percent, were adults belonging to the A1 priority group to the rest of the adult population, while 7,986, or 36 percent, were minors with and without comorbidities.
In the three days of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” in Muntinlupa, 12,967 individuals were given their first dose; 3,784 got their booster shots; and 5,556 received their second dose.
By vaccine brand, 16,143 got Pfizer-BioNTech from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1; 4,682 received AstraZeneca; 214 were given Sinovac Life Sciences’ CoronaVac; and 1,268 got Moderna.
The national government’s three-day campaign from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1 aimed to vaccinate at least nine million Filipinos or three million people per day with the first dose to increase vaccination outputs to 70 percent of target populations.
On Dec. 1, officials from the Department of Health visited Muntinlupa for a ceremonial vaccination event to mark the National Vaccination Day.
Attending the event at the Festival Mall vaccination site in Alabang were DOH Usec. Dr. Lilibeth David, DOH-NCR Regional Director Dr. Gloria Balboa, Interior Asec. Frank Cruz, Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon, Coun. Allan Camilon at Muntinlupa City Health Officer Dr. Juancho Bunyi.
David recognized Muntinlupa’s success in vaccination and its assistance to Cabuyao, Laguna. Muntinlupa sent a vaccination team to Cabuyao to help the local government.
During the program, 1,000 hygiene kits donated by Redscope were turned over for the use of frontliners in Muntinlupa.
