he Quezon City Police District (QCPD) distributed around 200 food packs and 100 toys to residents and children of Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City during the celebration of the 158th birth anniversary of Gat Andres Bonifacio on Tuesday, Nov. 30.

Through the “Barangayanihan”, Police Brig. Gen. Antonio Yarra, QCPD director, led the “Serbisyong Tama Caravan” in collaboration with QCPD’s “Kyusina ng Bayan”.

The Serbisyong Tama Caravan is the National Capital Region’s initiative to reach out to less fortunate families and individuals in Metro Manila, while the Kyusina ng Bayan is QCPD’s project (distribution of food packs and other essential items) to help the residents who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Hangad nating mabigyan ng ngiti ang bawat isa sa pamamagitan ng ating mga isinasagawang Barangyanihan. Ito rin ay upang mabigyan ng tulong ang ating mga kababayang higit na nangangailangan na walang pinipili lalung-lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemya (We want to make everyone smile through our Barangyanihan. This is also to help those who are in need, especially in this time of pandemic),” Yarra said.

Aside from food and toys, the police also gave five wheelchairs to disabled beneficiaries.

The QCPD also deployed policemen to ensure security, peace and order during the city’s commemoration of Bonifacio Day at the Bantayog ni Andres Bonifacio in Cloverleaf Balintawak.
