Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando is optimistic that by Christmas, the province will be able to achieve herd immunity with more than 70 percent of its eligible population already vaccinated against COVID-19.
The Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) has vaccinated thousands of Bulakenyos, including those who are bedridden in Barangays Bangkal, Santor, and Niugan in the City of Malolos, on the second day of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” National COVID-19 Vaccination campaign on Tuesday, November 30.
Secretary Carlito G. Galvez Jr., National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 chief implementor and vaccine czar who attended the event, thanked Fernando, as well as the mayors of the three cities and 21 municipalities in the province, for rallying Bulakenyos in making the Bayanihan Bakunahan National Vaccination drive a success.
Galvez said Filipinos need to get inoculated for them to be able to return to their normal lives while also strictly following the minimum public health standards.
The vaccine czar said fully vaccinated Filipinos could be considered modern heroes because they protect lives and contribute to the country’s economic development.
Fernando said he is grateful for the support of Bulakenyos who joined the National Vaccination Day at the Capitol Gymnasium in the City of Malolos, Bulacan from 7:a.m. to 7 p.m.
The vaccinations are also being carried out in various designated vaccination sites in the city.
