Quezon City topped the list of areas with the highest daily recorded number of new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases after logging 28 additional infections on Sun. Nov. 28.
In the Department of Health’s (DOH) latest data, Quezon City logged 28 new COVID-19 cases on Nov. 28, bringing the total confirmed cases to 177, 032.
It was followed by Manila City with 25 new cases and Caloocan with 12 cases.
Meanwhile, the area of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon (Calabarzon) recorded a total of 80 additional infections, Region III with 40, and Region I with 35, as of Nov. 28.
On Monday, Nov. 29, the country recorded 665 fresh COVID-19 cases, the lowest single-day count since July 2020.
Even as the number of coronavirus cases in the country continued to decline, the Philippines still ranked 19th in the world in number of COVID-19 cases.
Topping the list of countries with highest COVID-19 cases was the United States with 49 million cases, followed by India with 35 million cases, and Brazil with 22 million cases.
