The average number of new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases per day in the country is now only 204, the independent OCTA Research Group said on Tuesday, Nov. 30.
"As predicted, new cases in the NCR decreased to 200 by the end of November. The actual seven-day average is 204, the lowest since June 5 to 11, 2020," OCTA research fellow Dr. Guido David said in a Twitter post.
He noted that the seven-day average corresponds to the incidence rate of 1.44 per 100,000 per day.
"The seven-day average is also 30 percent lower compared to the seven-day average of 292 from Nov.16 to 22," he said.
Meanwhile, the reproduction in the NCR was 0.44 as of Nov. 26, while the positivity rate decreased to 1.47 percent from Nov. 22 to 28.
David also projected that the country's seven-day average today, Nov. 30, will likely be less than 200.
"Not considering yet possible effects of the new Omicron variant, we expect new cases in the NCR to decrease further to less than 100 per day by the time the December holiday arrives," he said.
