The low pressure area off Visayas intensified into tropical depression on Tuesday, Nov. 30, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

PAGASA/ MANILA BULLETIN
Weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the tropical depression developed from an LPA at around 8 p.m. on Monday.

As of 3 a.m., tropical depression was estimated at 1,590 kilometers east of Visayas and has maintained its maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph. It was forecast to move northwest at 15 kph.

PAGASA said that the tropical depression may become a tropical storm today, Nov. 30 and will likely enter the Philippine area of responsibility on Wednesday, Dec. 1.

The agency said the tropical depression will be named “Odette” once it enters the PAR.

Meanwhile, the provinces of Batanes and Cagayan will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to shearline.

Mostly fair weather conditions with isolated light rains due to thunderstorms may persist in the rest of Luzon.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will also have fair weather conditions except for some isolated rain showers due to “amihan”.
