Sista and Purefoods joined Terrafirma as the only unbeaten teams at the end of the preliminary phase of the PBA 3×3 third leg Sunday, Nov. 28 at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Super Sealers’ Kenneth Mocon, Leo de Vera, Prince Rivero and RJ Argamino defeated Barangay Ginebra San Miguel, 20-17, while the TJ Titans’ Joseph Eriobu, Jed Mendoza, Pao Javelona and Jun Bonsubre edged the shorthanded TNT Tropang Giga, 21-19.

Terrafirma’s TH Tumalip, Dhon Reverente, Matt Salem and Jebb Bulawan completed a four-game sweep of Pool A with a 21-8 rout of the winless Zamboanga Valientes.
The Dyip are hoping to make a deep run and gain a chance to take home a cash prize which the team plans to give to ailing star Roider Cabrera, who is in the hospital after he collapsed during the second leg.
The champion gets P100,000, runner-up will receive P50,000 while the third placer will have P30,000.
Other teams that advanced to the quarters were Pioneer’s Carlo Escalambre, Carlo de Chavez, Gian Abrigo and Christian Rivera after placing third in Pool A at 2-2.
Platinum Karaoke’s Chris de Chavez, Karl Dehesa, JR Alabanza and Ryan Monteclaro posted a 2-1 record for second in Pool B and Limitless’ Brandon Rosser, Marvin Hayes, Reymar Caduyac and Jorey Napoles had the same record in Pool C.
Ginebra, which placed third in Pool B at 1-2, claimed the last quarters berth with a 21-17 win over Pool C counterpart TNT as Mikey Cabahug, Denice Villamor, Jollo Go and Jojo Cunanan sent the first leg champions home early.
TNT’s third leg campaign was marred by a two-game suspension on Lervin Flores and an injury sustained by Jeremiah Gray, resulting in just one win in three matches in the prelims.
The quarterfinal pairings being played as of posting are Pioneer-Platinum, Sista-Limitless, Terrafirma-Ginebra and Purefoods-Meralco.
