Kidapawan Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo, chairman of NASSA/Caritas Philippines, said the campaign which aims to vaccinate around 15 million Filipinos will help in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.

“The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines has always been supportive of the call of the government for a collective approach to fight the global pandemic in our country .Getting vaccinated has been one of our strongest appeals,” said Bishop Bagaforo over Radio Veritas.

“We are seeing that all stakeholders have been helping the government achieve herd immunity against the virus. We need to make the most of this coming together. Let no issue, political or otherwise, ruin this beautiful fraternal solidarity,” the Church leader stressed.

Father Tony Labiao, executive secretary of Caritas Philippines, said they have been coordinating with archdioceses and dioceses around the country to help encourage the unvaccinated to go to the designated vaccination sites.

“Aside from opening our facilities as vaccination areas, the church volunteers and other resources were offered to the Department of Health and the local government units in full support of the program. We will continue to do so until all is done with our vaccination program,” he said.
