NCIP supports National Vaccination Days; encourages indigenous people to get vaccinated


The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) supports the country’s declaration of the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” National Vaccination Days, it said in an official statement on Friday, Nov. 26.

“In view of the declaration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Nov. 24, declaring Nov. 29 to Dec. 1, 2021, as Bayanihan, Bakunahan National COVID-19 Vaccination Days, the NCIP declares support to its noble undertakings,” it said in an official statement.

The government agency will show support through the Information and Education Campaign (EIC) on COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) vaccination to Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICC) / Indigenous Peoples (IPs) of the country.

NCIP also plans to direct its health personnel to extend their full support and cooperation as volunteers in providing COVID-19 vaccination during the vaccination days.

“ NCIP officials and personnel encourage our IP brothers and sisters to be inoculated during the three-day vaccination period,” said NCIP Chairperson Allen A. Capuyan in an official statement.

The Bayanihan, Bakunahan National Vaccination Days set to begin on Monday, Nov. 29 until Wednesday, Dec.1, is an initiative of the Philippine government, aiming to boost the country’s tally of vaccinations by increasing the number of vaccines delivered nationwide. (Charie Mae F. Abarca)
