TNC Predator and Boom Esports both dropped their respective foes to the lower bracket in the first day of the Mineski Masters playoffs on Thursday, Nov 25.
TNC outlasted Execration, 2-1, while Boom made quick work of InterActive PH, 2-0, to advance to the second round of the upper bracket playoffs.
TNC drew first blood in the best-of-three all-Filipino showdown with a tight 23-17 Game 1 win. Execration retaliated with a 30-18 fightback to tie the series before TNC outdueled its counterparts, 33-16, behind the impressive showing of Yuri Dave "Yowe" Pacaña and his Death Prophet who finished with a 16-1-8 KDA.
Boom, on the other hand, was just too much for InterActive as it cruised to an easy sweep. The Indonesia-based squad led by Filipino stars Timothy “Tims” Randrup and Gabriel “skem” Ong punished the Philippine-based team 45-22 in Game 1.
Boom followed it up with another emphatic performance, annihilating InterActive, 52-12 in Game 2.
Also reaching the second round were Filipino teams OB Esports x Neon and UD Vessuwan.
OB.Neon beat Grindsky Esports, 2-0, while UD Vessuwan outlasted Motivate.Trust Gaming 2-1. Boom will then face OB.Neon while UD Vessuwan set up a clash against TNC in the second round of the upper bracket on the Nov 26
Day 1 losers, meanwhile, will be battling for survival in the first round of the lower bracket. Grindsky will take on InterActive while Execration hopes to continue its campaign against Motivate.Trust.
