CEBU CITY — Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, who is running for vice president, has asked town mayors in Region 7 to support her and her running mate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. in next year’s elections.
Duterte-Carpio appealed to the mayors to not just support her but the whole “BBM-Sara” tandem, saying she could not see herself working well with other President.
Duterte-Carpio made the appeal during the Regional General Assembly of the League of Municipalities of the Philippines-Central Visayas on Friday, Nov. 26, Parklane Hotel in Cebu City.
It is important for me as a Vice Presidential candidate that my running mate has the experience in the executive work whether as a barangay captain, mayor or governor, because they are the ones that have the experience in decision-making),” said Duterte-Carpio.
Duterte-Carpio said that she wants a President who can implement projects right away and she sees those qualities in Marcos.
Duterte-Carpio and Marcos graced the event and both spoke before the town mayors from Central Visayas.
The daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte said it is not her trait to solicit support but has to take the courage to do so.
I am not used to making requests for myself but since I am already standing here in front of you, so I will no longer let this opportunity pass),” said Duterte-Carpio.
My request and our request is to vote straight Bongbong Sara tandem),” she said.
