In a set of photos on her official Facebook page on Friday, Abalos was seen checking the ongoing repairs being done in the portion of a road that collapsed in Barangay Hulo.

According to the authorities, the road undergoing repair for the pipe laying project of Manila Water gave way due to the soft soil condition in the area.

The project's contractor said the soil erosion was due to the seepage coming from the Pasig River. He added that repairs will last for three to five days.

Meanwhile, several residents on Conrado Street expressed concern after finding small cracks on their homes following the collapse.

"Baka sa susunod na panahon, puro crack na ang bahay namin. Kaunting lindol lang, either maraming crack o kaya gumuho ang bahay namin. Ayusin lang po sana 'yong paglagay ng panambak para solido (Maybe in the coming days, our house will be filled with more cracks. A weak earthquake may damage it further or make it collapse completely. They should properly fill the road to fortify the ground)," a resident said in an interview with 24 Oras.
