During the Laging Handa public briefing, Dr. Edsel Salvana, a member of the Department of Health (DOH) technical advisory group urged the public to “take advantage” of the National Vaccination Days beginning Monday, Nov. 29, until Wednesday, Dec. 1.

“Kung hindi pa kayo nababakunahan, take advantage of these vaccination days. Lalong lalo na ‘yung supply looks okay naman. Alam ko ‘yung ibang LGUs (Local Government Units) ay 24 hours silang mag-va-vaccinate (If you haven’t been vaccinated yet, take advantage of these vaccination days. Especially now that the supply looks okay. As far as I know, some of the LGUs will vaccinate for 24 hours),” said Dr. Salvana.

The National Vaccination Days is an initiative of the Philippine government in hopes of ramping up the country’s vaccination against COVID-19 by increasing the number of vaccine doses delivered nationwide.

“If you work, you will be considered not absent. ‘Yung mga bata po na nasa pilot face-to-face, you will be excused from classes (If you have work, you will be considered not absent. Those children in pilot face-to-face, you will be excused from classes),” Salvana said

The expert expressed hope that the vaccination will go as smoothly as possible for everyone to get vaccinated.

“This is your chance... let’s get that done para makaahon na po tayo dito sa pandemic na ito (This is your chance...let’s get that done for us to be able to rise against this pandemic),” he said. (Charie Mae F. Abarca)
