I got this message from the PR agency of Union Bank of the Philippines requesting for the publication of the bank’s statement about the article that came in the Technews section of the Manila Bulletin titled, Anatomy of the SMS scam offering high-paying part-time jobs, published on November 24, 2021, https://mb.com.ph/2021/11/24/anatomy-of-the-sms-scam-offering-high-paying-part-time-jobs/.

In the said exclusive Manila Bulletin story, I talked about how scammers tricked users into giving away their money. I also mentioned that “All the five scam messages that I got are using different UnionBank accounts to accept money and GCash for victims to send payments.”

Here’s the statement of the Union Bank of the Philippines about the issue.
