Presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, Jr. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, assured his supporters and the Filipino people that he is still against illegal drugs.
This was after Marcos took a drug test and submitted the "negative" result to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the office of the Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
He also gave a statement on the blind item that a presidential aspirant is a cocaine user.
"I really don’t feel that I am the one being alluded to. In Spite of that, I believe it is my inherent duty as an aspiring public official to assure my fellow Filipinos that I am against illegal drugs," said Marcos, Jr. on the blind item that a presidential aspirant is a cocaine user.
"This is why I took a cocaine test yesterday and the result was submitted this morning to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), the office of the Chief of the PNP and the National Bureau of Investigation." "Let me reiterate my assurance to my fellowmen, especially to the supporters of BBM-Sara Uniteam, that I am, and will remain, a vigilant anti-illegal drugs campaigner!" added the former lawmaker.
The former Ilocos Norte governor also repeated the call he made during the 2016 national elections that all those seeking elective positions must take a drug test.
"And as I made the call during the 2016 election campaign, I’m calling again all elective aspirants to take the drug test to ensure our people, particularly the young generation, that no elected leader is into illegal substances." (Melvin Sarangay)
