Gen. Dionardo Carlos, chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), reminded all police personnel that drinking session inside police stations, camps and other police offices are prohibited based on the rules of the organization.

He issued the reminder after the early Saturday morning incident inside the Camp Simeon Ola in Legazpi City, where the Police Regional Office 5 is located, wherein a police sergeant permanently lost the vision of his left eye after allegedly being struck by a broken glass by Col. Dulnoan Dinamling Jr.

Dinamling, who was then the commander of the PNP Aviation Security Group in Bicol region, was reportedly drunk after attending a birthday party inside Camp Ola.

“It (drinking inside police camp) is prohibited. They have to tell us why (I happened) and kung meron vinaviolate na regulasyon pasagutin natin sila doon sa kanilang violation If they violated the regulation, they will answer to that violation,” said Carlos.

On Saturday, Carlos visited Police Master Sgt. Ricky Brabante to assure him of all the assistance and that justice will be served for what happened to him at the hands of Dinamling.

Carlos said Col. Lawrence Gomeyac was also sacked as commander of the Regional Mobile Forces Battalion 5, over the incident. It was Gomeyac’s birthday party and he was the one who invited Dinamling.

Both Gomeyac and Dinamling are members of the PNP Academy Class 1998.

Carlos vowed fair treatment of the investigation, adding that the investigation will also focus on the testimony of other witnesses after Dinaling also stated his version of his story.

“But I told him (Dinamling to just accept the consequences of his action,” said Carlos, adding that he also met with Dinamling in front of Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo, director of the PRO5.
