Juan Gomez de Liano and Earthfriends Tokyo Z ended their winless campaign in the second division of Japan’s B.League.

Tokyo Z snapped a 0-13 start Friday, Nov. 19 with a 98-65 rout of the Ehime Orange Vikings at the Ota Gymnasium, with Gomez de Liano posting seven points on 3-of-8 shooting with four assists.

Gomez de Liano tried to help Tokyo Z make it two in a row but the Orange Vikings bounced back with an 84-57 victory the following day.

He also finished with seven points on 3-of-9 from the field while adding four rebounds and two assists.

At 1-14, Tokyo Z holds the worst record in Japan’s second-tier division.

Kemark Carino and the Aomori Wat’s continued their own struggles after a 77-55 road defeat to the Sendai 89ers at the Xebio Arena.

Carino had four points and four rebounds in 18 minutes for the Wat’s, who now have a 1-13 card.

Aomori plays Sendai anew Sunday at the same venue.

Only second division matches are on schedule in the Japanese league to give way to the first window of the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.
