Colegio de San Juan de Letran and the Lyceum of the Philippines University advanced to the upper bracket finals after relegating their respective foes to the lower bracket in the Collegiate Center for Esports’ Mobile Legends Varsity Cup on Thursday, Nov. 18.

King “Ruki” Caralipio starred in the Letran Knights’ 2-0 drubbing of the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals while the Lyceum Pirates pulled off a reverse sweep, 2-1, against Mapua University Cardinals in their upper bracket match-ups.

Caralipio unleashed a 7-2-5 score line on his Roger in Game 1 as he quickly snowballed behind the support from Jap “Acetaulava” Pambiid’s Hylos and Allen “Bergss11” Mina’s Valir. Letran took the first blood in the series with a 16-11 tally in the first game.

He continued his onslaught in the second game, this time on the jungle Barats to finish with a 4-2-5 score line and drop the Generals to the lower bracket after the Knights' 18-16 victory in Game 2.

Meanwhile, Lyceum recovered from a Game 1 defeat to pull off a stunning reverse sweep behind the efforts of Shawn Umali and Yancy Remulla.

The Pirates struggled to find answers to Warren Bonifacio’s jungle Hayabusa who put up a neat 15-0-7 KDA to help Lyceum score a dominant 28-10 win in Game 1.

It was a back-and-forth action in Game 2 as both teams had their chances to go for the death push. Umali then came alive in the late game with crucial pick offs using his Chou to finish with 7-1-2 KDA. Lyceum tied the series after 19-9 dominance to force a winner-take-all Game 3.

With the momentum on their side, Remulla who had a 4-1-7 KDA in Game 2 on the Natan, took over in Game 3. The Pirates banked on its late game composition once again anchored on Remulla’s Natan who didn’t disappoint with another solid outing of 6-2-6 KDA to complete the sweep.

In the lower bracket, San Sebastian College – Recoletos Stags swept University of Perpetual Help -DALTA, 2-0, behind an impressive two game stretch from TeyJay who spearheaded the attack with a 4-2-11 score line in the 17-13 Game 1 win and a perfect 7-0-8 KDA in the 23-17 triumph in Game 2.
