BI Commissioner Jaime Morente expressed his gratitude to Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian, who attended the turnover ceremony at the bureau's main office in Intramuros, Manila.

The envoy said the gift was made to help the bureau search and arrest unwanted foreign nationals.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente thanked the Chinese government for the donation which, he said, would greatly assist the BI in transporting arrested illegal aliens.

Morente said even during the coronavirus disesase (COVID-19) pandemic, they have been relentless in the drive against illegal aliens, fugitives, and those who violated the conditions of their stay.

“We thank our friends from the Chinese Embassy for recognizing the success of the bureau in arresting groups and individuals involved in cybercrimes and fraud,” he added.
