Upcoming netter gains main draw berth in Junior Orange Bowl

Upcoming player Brice Vincent Baisa earned a main draw berth in the 60th Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship scheduled next month.

Baisa, a 12-year-old student of Gateway International School of Science and Technology, gained a direct acceptance in the boys’ 12-under singles event participated by players from 70 countries.

The tournament is set Dec. 12 to 21 at the William H. Kerdyk Biltmore Tennis Center in Coral Gables, Florida.

Globally recognized as one of the prestigious junior tennis events in the world, the tournament boasts and impressive alumni list of pros that include Roger Federer, Kei Nishikori, Sofia Kenin, Simona Halep and Kim Clijsters.

Other Filipinos who previously competed in the tournament were veteran former Australian Open Junior Doubles champion Francis Casey Alcantara, AJ Lim, and Alex Eala.

Eala actually won the Orange Bowl girls 18-under doubles title with Belarusian partner Evialina Laskevic in 2019.
