P1.6-M illegal drugs seized in QC buy-busts


Police seized some P1.6 million worth of illegal drugs from four suspects in two separate buy-bust operations in Quezon City on Monday, Nov. 15.

Police Lt. Col. Joewie Lucas, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 5 (PS 5) commander, identified the first three suspects as Leomar Guaves, 25; Mar Diangzon, 29; and Arvin Pamintuan, 29. They are all residing in Project 8, Quezon City.

Guaves is listed as a “Regional Priority Target”, according to the police.

The PS 5 launched the entrapment on Monday in front of a school on Commonwealth Ave. in Brgy. Greater Fairview at around 8:00 p.m. after a confidential informant reported the activities of the suspects in the area.

They recovered from the suspects 200 grams of alleged shabu worth P1,360,000, the buy-bust money, and a cellphone.

Meanwhile, Police Maj. Wennie Ann Cale, chief of the District Drug Enforcement Unit(DDEU), identified the fourth suspect as Bryan Garcia, 22, from Las Pinas City.

Garcia was arrested by operatives of DDEU on Ecol St. in Brgy. Commonwealth at around 8:00 p.m.

Garcia yielded two kilos of alleged marijuana worth P240,000, the buy-bust money, and a cellphone used for the drug deal.

The four suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the "Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002".
