After presenting his best works at Arab Fashion Week 2021, Filipino designer Michael Leyva broke the dry spell on live, on-ground fashion shows in Manila with his 2022 bridal showcase that happened last Nov. 13, 2021.

Dubbed “Enchanted,” the show’s display of bespoke couture pieces are the very definition of its title. Magical and full of beauty, Hilton Manila’s Grand Ballroom became a dream wedding set up, filled with lush green plants, fresh blooms, lights, and sparkles, with the perfect music to bring everyone to that loving feeling one gets during nuptials.

When the mood was set, fashion savants and soon-to-be brides were delighted with the plethora of bridal couture pieces that walked its pristine runway. Notable pieces were donned by the night’s muses. Miss Universe Philippines 2021 queens were adorned with white and cream ensembles. Steffi Aberasturi wore an embellished dress with draped sleeves and a dramatic train. Maureen Wroblewitz looked like a doll in her halter dress with tulle overlay. Channeling old-school glamor was Victoria Vincent with her dress of intricate details and billowing sleeves. A vision in white, the crowned Miss Universe Philippines Beatrice Luigi Gomez stunned the audience with her all lace high-neck, long-sleeved dress with an art deco train.

Adding a dash of color to the runway were actresses Andrea Brillantes and Francine Diaz. Fit for a bold bride, Andrea was dressed in a bedazzled sweetheart ball gown in vivid red. While Francine gave a true princess moment wearing a lilac ball gown with floral appliques.

“Last night was another milestone for my career,” Michael said in a post. “My heart is full with gratitude to be the one to finally put up the very first physical fashion show again after almost two years here in Manila. To God be all the Glory.”

“Enchanted” runway show was directed by Robby Carmona and was co-presented by Getting Married Phils and Hilton Manila.
