Finally, face shields will no longer be required, even as President Duterte insisted that face masks would likely stay “forever” as he did not see an end to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) crisis in the near future.

With Harry Roque out as Presidential spokesperson, Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles will temporarily take over his post on an acting capacity.

The big stories in the political arena are President Duterte’s down-the-wire filing of his certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator, and the Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showing former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Senate President Vicente Sotto III ahead in the race for president and vice president, respectively.
