Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar named Best Historic Hotel in Asia Pacific


The hotel ‘blends the charm and character of the nation’s past with exceptionally welcoming and personalized service in a relaxed beach resort and hotel setting’

By giving a glimpse of the nation’s past life, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar has been awarded as the Best Historic Hotel in Asia Pacific by the Historic Hotels Awards of Excellence. The 2021 edition of the annual awarding ceremony and gala dinner happened last Nov. 11, 2021 at The American Club Resort Hotel in Kohler, Wisconsin.

According to Hospitality.net, nominees and finalists for the 2021 Historic Hotels Awards of Excellence (HHAE) were selected by “historic hotels, preservation supporters, prior award recipients, community leaders, and leadership from Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide.” After the HHAE committee’s evaluation, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar bagged the honor for the Asia/Pacific category, an award that is given to a hotel that “best celebrates its history in the guest experience and provides exceptional customer hospitality and service.”

The Philippine heritage hotel bested six other nominees for the awarding, which include Deogarh Mahal (1670) Rajasthan in India, Raffles Singapore (1887) in Singapore, Beijing Hotel NUO (1917) in Beijing, China, The Fullerton Hotel Singapore (1924) in Singapore, Raffles Grand Hotel D'Angkor (1932) in Siem Reap, Cambodia, and The Murray Hong Kong (1969) Hong Kong.

Located by Bagac Bay in Bataan, Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar (1780) was established by founder and owner Jose “Jerry” Acuzar in 2010. The 400-hectare heritage destination, beach resort, and convention center was rooted in Jerry’s passion for collecting heritage houses.
