Jarvey Gayoso fired five goals to power the Azkals Development Team’s 9-0 rout of Mendiola FC 1991 and clinch the last semifinals berth Saturday, Nov. 13 in the Copa Paulino Alcantara at the PFF National Training Centre in Carmona, Cavite.

Gayoso scored twice in the first half, including the opener off a penalty kick in the 16th minute, before adding three following the restart to give the ADT the maximum three points.

Dennis Chung, Christian Rontini, Mar Diano and Sandro Reyes also found the back of the net as the developmental squad bounced back from a 2-0 defeat to Kaya-Iloilo to finish second in Group B.

ADT will take on Stallion-Laguna, the top team in Group A, while Kaya plays Dynamic Herb Cebu in tomorrow’s semis at the same venue.

The winners will meet in the Copa Final while the losers play for third place on Friday, Nov. 19.

Mendiola was the only club to suffer an early exit after losing both matches by a combined margin of 15-0.

ADT’s onslaught started when Chung won a penalty after being fouled by Mendiola’s Eric Manlapaz inside the box, allowing Gayoso to score from the spot.

Gayoso capped off a stretch of four goals in almost 10 minutes to eventually give ADT a 5-0 lead at the break before his three goals in the next half extended the dominance of Mendiola.
