The DICT said the donation was part of its Digital Education Program and its component Cybersafe Learning Project.

DICT Undersecretary Jose Arturo C. De Castro led the turnover of the learning devices to the school officials of San Isidro National High School.

“Notwithstanding the limited resources, the DICT is working tirelessly to provide for the technological needs of public educational institutions for our students who are struggling with distance learning,” De Castro said in a statement.

The DICT implemented its Digital Education Program to help local government units facilitate ICT-enabled education, especially for distance learning amid the ongoing pandemic.

Its component, Cybersafe Learning Project Education, seeks to optimize the use of ICT for the enhancement of cyber-education and promotion of digital literacy.

“The Department seeks to promote and develop the use of ICT in education,” De Castro said.

“Through this initiative, we aim to be more responsive and attuned to the needs of our educational institutions, their teachers, and the students,” he added.
