Private school students get COVID-19 jab in Pasig

Around 1,000 students, aged 12 to 17, are set to be vaccinated during the mass private school pediatric inoculation in Pasig City on Thursday, Nov. 11.

The Pasig City government, in collaboration with the Pasig Alliance of Private School Administrators (PAPRISA), which has over 100 private school members, aims to vaccinate 1,000 students from PAPRISA schools.

Three sites have been designated for the pediatric vaccination -- the Pasig Sports Center, Tanghalang Pasigueño theatre, and Buting Elementary School.

Vaccinations will be held in these venues on weekdays from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Over 3,500 students have registered for the program based on the master list provided by PAPRISA. A total of 1,000 students are targeted to be vaccinated per vaccination schedule.

Meanwhile, the Pasig Schools Division Office (SDO) and the Department of Education (DepED) will continue with the inoculation of public school students as part of a separate public school program which was launched on Nov. 3.

Based on a Nov. 8 report, a total of 7,763 minors with and without comorbidities have been vaccinated against COVID-19, with 81 of them fully vaccinated.
